Our centre here at Kempsey has just started 2006 & we will be so grateful of any donations to add to our equipment . Please check your sheds , as your trash would definately be our treasure !
HOW CAN YOU HELP ?
RAFFLE TICKETS : During the next few months , before christmas 2006 , we will be selling raffle tickets , the prize being a beautiful hand made rocking horse made & donated by WAYNE GARDINER , solely for fund raising our centre ....THANKS SO MUCH WAYNE !
Dates & sites for ticket selling are available from Jennie G (secretary) . Please help as much as you can !
NEEDED DESPERATELY…. Volunteers willing to take on fundraising – a co-ordinator and helpers. Our bank balance is depleting quickly and we need to find ways to raise some more money, through our efforts, not just donations.
Also if you know anyone in business, with some non-perishable items they could donate, please approach them to see if we can get some prizes for a raffle which will be drawn around the horses’ birthday.
HELMETS & BOOTS: We have 11 helmets and a few suitable boots of varying sizes, but we still need boots, which have a smooth sole. So if you know anyone who has grown out of their riding boots, please get them to contact one of the committee.
VOLUNTEER : You can help by becoming a volunteer ! You can contact any of us on the contacts page or turn up to the Kempsey Showground from 10.30am Tuesday mornings .
HORSES/PONIES : HORSES & PONIES NEEDED: PLEASE KEEP AN EYE AND AN EAR OUT FOR PONIES AND HORSES, WHICH MAY BE SUITABLE FOR RDA. Ideally, they should be 11-16hh, 6yr old +, sound, feet & teeth in good order, no outward signs of ill health, easy to catch, handle and float. Of course they have to be tested and assessed by the horse committee, but if you hear of one or more, please contact Cathy. We would like to welcome Sharon Cross and her horse Matey, who has been accepted as an RDA horse. Great to have you both on board
The centre is still in need of horses/ponies ,around 13hh would be great. RDA doesn't need to lease or own the horses , but are happy to borrow your much beloved pony for the morning . Or if you have an older pony in need of a home why not think of our centre ! Not a bad life of retirement ,only ridden one morning per week at a walk whilst being led.
MANY OTHER WAYS TO HELP : Donations of horse equipment/rugs/clothing/boots/saddles.....go check your shed !!!!!! You can also adopt a horse .Please call us or email for details.
